Famitsu has released the latest sales data for hardware and software sales at Japanese retail for the previous two weeks, spanning the period from December 26 to January 8, and unsurprisingly, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – which were the highest-selling games in Japan last year – have topped the software charts again with over 291,000 units sold.
The vast majority of the top 10, in fact, is Switch titles, with the PS5 version of Gran Turismo 7 at No. 6 (with over 38,000 units sold) being the only non-Switch title in the charts. The likes of Splatoon 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo Switch Sports, and Dragon Quest Treasures all also rank high.
On the hardware side of things, the two-week period saw boosted sales for the console, with all models put together selling over 250,000 units, while the PS5 followed in second place with over 85,000 units sold.
