In the first episode of Suicide Squad Insider, Rocksteady Studios provided new details on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It showcased an early section of the game, how the squad enters Metropolis, and more. We also see the different ways each member travels around (courtesy of stolen items from the Hall of Justice).
Deadshot zips around on a jetpack while Harley Quinn uses Batman’s grappling hook and a Bat Drone. By coordinating the two together, she can grapple with it when no buildings are around. King Shark leaps and bounds while Captain Boomerang uses the Speed Force Gauntlet to dash around like The Flash.
As for combat, Harley can close the distance with her grapple and smack enemies with her bat, though she can also swing around and shoot them. Captain Boomerang uses sniper rifles, SMGs and shotguns while teleporting, freezing enemies and throwing boomerangs.
King Shark is the tank whose play style is described as “Death from Above,” as exhibited by his cannonball dive onto enemies. He uses heavy weapons, assault rifles and shotguns, but can also bust out cleavers, sickles and combat knives for melee combat.
Deadshot is a master of firearms, using sniper rifles, assault rifles and pistols. He can also fight with his wrist cannons up close. All team members have melee attacks that can break enemy shields and initiate Juggle Kills. If you juggle an enemy with a melee attack, all gunshots are guaranteed crits for a short period. You can also perform shield harvesting strikes to recharge some of your shields.
Each character also has Suicide Strikes – one-hit kills on any enemy that takes some time to recharge. There’s also the Counter Shot mechanic, where interrupting an enemy with gunfire can deal damage, interrupt their attacks or stun them.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is out on February 2nd, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Pre-orders can net the classic outfits for the Suicide Squad members for free. Rocksteady will provide more details on combat, gameplay, and more in the next episode, so stay tuned.
