Ghost of Tsushima is Sony’s Biggest Ever Single-Player Launch on Steam, Surpassing God of War

The PC audience had been loudly demanding a port of Ghost of Tsushima for some time now, and upon its recent launch, Sucker Punch and Sony’s open world samurai epic has unsurprisingly found a sizeable audience. On the day of its release, the game had hit a peak of over 57,000 concurrent players on Steam, and since then, those numbers have only continued to climb.

As per SteamDB, in fact, Ghost of Tsushima recently saw a peak of 77,154 concurrent players on Steam. That means it has surpassed God of War (73,529 peak concurrent players) and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (66,436 peak concurrent players) to achieve the highest ever concurrent users count for a single-player Sony-published game on Steam. Overall, it sits at No. 2 in those ranks, trailing behind Helldivers 2 (458,709 peak concurrent players) by quite some margin.

Ghost of Tsushima’s PC port has attracted some recent controversy, with the PSN linking requirements of its co-op mode Legends having led to the game being delisted in around 180 countries. Nonetheless, reception from players and the numbers it’s attracting seem to have remained unaffected.
